Accessibility Statement www.stverenas.com Last updated: February 10, 2026

St. Verena’s Coptic Charity (also known as St. Verena's Service) is committed to making our website accessible to everyone, in keeping with the compassionate legacy of Saint Verena, who served the sick, the marginalized, and those in need without distinction. We believe that digital inclusion is an extension of our mission to provide food, clothing, hygiene support, spiritual resources, and community outreach to all people, including individuals with disabilities.

We strive to ensure that our website is usable by people with a wide range of abilities, including those who are blind or have low vision, deaf or hard of hearing, have mobility impairments, cognitive or learning disabilities, or use assistive technologies such as screen readers, magnifiers, voice recognition software, or keyboard-only navigation.

Our Accessibility Goals and Standards

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These internationally recognized guidelines provide recommendations for making web content more accessible. Conformance to Level AA helps address barriers for many users with disabilities and improves usability for everyone.

Our website is hosted on Wix, which includes built-in accessibility features such as:

  • Support for alt text on images (e.g., icons and photos related to Saint Verena and our service work)

  • Keyboard navigation support

  • Responsive design for different devices and screen sizes

  • Color contrast considerations in text and elements

We are continually working to improve accessibility by:

  • Adding meaningful alternative text to images and icons

  • Ensuring headings, links, and forms (if added in future) are properly labeled

  • Using clear, simple language in our content about Saint Verena's story and our charitable programs

  • Testing pages with common assistive technologies where possible

Conformance Status

As a small volunteer-driven nonprofit, we are partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We have implemented many accessibility features, but some areas may still need refinement (e.g., certain third-party embeds like PayPal donation buttons or external links, which we monitor).

We are actively addressing known issues and welcome feedback to help us prioritize improvements.

Feedback and Contact

We welcome your input on the accessibility of www.stverenas.com. If you encounter any barriers, have suggestions for improvement, or need content in an alternative format (e.g., larger text, audio description, or simplified language), please contact us. We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 5–10 business days.

Ongoing Efforts

Accessibility is an ongoing process. We:

  • Review and update content periodically

  • Train volunteers and content creators on basic accessibility best practices

  • Monitor Wix platform updates for new accessibility tools

  • Plan periodic manual and automated checks

Thank you for helping us make our digital space more welcoming and inclusive, just as Saint Verena welcomed and cared for all in need.

If you require this statement in an alternative format, let us know.
